Fishbowl Festival of Community, Food, Arts and Culture February 20th – March 20th, 2017
Hello, and welcome to the 2017 Fishbowl Festival of Community, Food, Arts and Culture!
For the past year, Gore Street Café has worked towards increasing access to wholesome, sustainable, affordable food in downtown Sault Ste Marie and maintained a clear mandate to provide space for community-led events, and for local artists to perform and promote their work.
The café strives to create safe, public space for a variety of functions, contributing to an increase in social and cultural capital and strengthening of community capacity.
The goal of this festival is to support and promote the development of community led events in downtown Sault Ste Marie, contributing to the holistic well-being of the city and its citizens. A variety of individuals and organizations have come together to organize and present these events, ranging from laundromat concerts to art classes, workshops, film screenings, and culinary events.
From February 20th to March 20th more than 30 events will take place as part of the festival in various venues across the city, with Gore Street Cafe at 164 Gore Street acting as the main venue and festival hub.
We are inspired and delighted by the response from the community, and excited for the diverse events that are being presented during the festival.
May you find many intriguing, exciting, and creative ways to take part in the Fishbowl Festival this year.
